👽 Sci-Fi Reading Challenge 2026

I have (or what more presently is becoming had) an idea for a reading challenge:

50 Science Fiction Books in 52 Weeks

The reason why it’s becoming had is pretty obvious; there’s no way I’m making time for that, with everything and everyone else going on in life…It became even more apparent in trying to read ‘IT‘ by Stephen King in under two months—I did finish 12/28 after starting 11/1—much of which I listened to on car rides to appointments just to finish on time that there is almost no way I’ll be able to accomplish this and more importantly, as much as I’d like, at this point in my life, probably not the most important thing in the world for me to do either…

But I love Science Fiction. Big ideas, weird ideas, psychedelia, paradigm shifts, what is reality, what is consciousness, simulacra, simulation, etc. Not so much space opera/hard sci-fi, but alternate realities with philosophical overlays, mind benders, I’m all-in.

So, I made a list, and though I likely won’t be finishing it, I figured I’d share it with my people, and if any of these sound interesting, maybe one of you will pick one of these up and tell me about it. I myself will fervently attack the books and do updates with the recs, among the other recs, as I go along, and hopefully, I can make a dent in this list.

Christmas Card Proof

Many of you received these, but here’s this year’s Christmas card proof. We had a more elaborate Home Alone card that we’d discussed doing, but just like the reading challenges, the ideas are larger in scope than I should probably be tackling…So, I skipped that and learning Photoshop, and instead we did a take on the other “Poles”, like not the north or south pole of Christmas, but the others…

A little bit of stretch conceptually, but made for some pretty cute captions.

Christmas Vacation - My all time favotire Christmas movie, and the quote that still innervates my soul’s funny bone to the core

If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now!

- Clark W. Griswold - Christmas Vacation

Otherwise, there will be another real estate-related letter coming out next week or the next. I’m trying to see what sort of year-end real estate recap numbers come out next week and see if there’s enough to relay some useful/topical info take into the New Year. Should have some good stuff for you all.

Otherwise, thank you again to all my friends and family for all the love and support in life, in business, or otherwise, and hopefully, I get to connect with all of you at some point in 2026!
